TADEUSZ GRONOWSKI

5 X 1894, Warsaw - 20 II 1990, Warsaw. Studied Architecture in Z.Kozinski' class in Warsaw and at Ecole Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris (1926-27) . Active in many fields since 1916. Established a poster design atelier "Plakat" in 1923. Collaborated with Galleries LaFayette, Au Printemps and Trois Quartiers stores. 1930-34 Editor in Chief of "Grafika" magazine. Exhibitions : Paris - 1925 (Grand Prix at the Int'l Exhibition of Decorative Arts for a poster), Munchen -1929, Prague - 1934, Paris - 1937 (Gold Medal for set & costume design, Silver for posters), Bruxelles - 1925, New York - 1939 (Gold Medal), Warsaw - 1933, 58, 63, 69, Wroclaw - 1978. 1st Prize for the poster of the Int'l Art and Technology Exhibition , Paris 1937.
